The choir is a group of interested parishioners who love to sing and share their given musical talents in the liturgical services. The purpose of this Music Ministry is to bring the song of the assembled community to life, and to assist the people of the assembly in making their song prayers, from the heart as well as the head. Music ministry can be a fun, spiritually-uplifting ministry which requires a strong competency and a time commitment. We meet every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m., except during July and August, at St. Mary to rehearse. We may also have additional rehearsals for special liturgical celebrations. The choir falls under the umbrella of the parish Liturgical Ministry and takes direction from it for liturgical musical selections that enhance liturgical services. It is expected that members attend all rehearsals, unless previously excused by the Choir Coordinator. All choir members must complete a volunteer application and attend STAND training. There are times when we have high school children under the age of 18 in the choir. It is an Archdiocesan requirement that anyone with substantial contact with children (weekly rehearsals) must be STAND trained. If you have not fulfilled this requirement, you should do so immediately, so you can proceed with volunteering in the choir.
